How to pick up objects & climb on enemies in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Climbing on top of enemies can be vital to taking down the biggest monsters in Dragon's Dogma 2, and you can even throw some items to create chaos too.
One of the fundamentals of Dragon’s Dogma 2’s combat is the ability to grab onto enemies and throw objects in the environment to deal some serious damage, so I’m here to walk you through how to do just that in the game.
Whether you’re looking for a way to clobber some Trolls, or want to ride on the back of a Griffin, there are plenty of options to take on your foes – as long as you can keep a tight grip.
How to pick up objects in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To pick up objects in Dragon’s Dogma 2, all you need to do is approach it, like the rock in our title image, and use the R2 button on the DualSense controller. To release it, press the same button again, or you can press R1 to throw it.
While you can certainly pick up boulders to throw at enemies and deal some significant damage (especially if you throw them from a height) you can also throw enemies themselves into their villainous cohorts like I did above. There’s nothing quite like a bit of Goblin yeeting to get the blood pumping during a fight.
How to climb on enemies in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To climb larger enemies in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you simply need to approach them and press the R2 button. You can either do so while running or jump onto the enemy for a more secure (and cooler) grasp.
It’s best to weaken enemies beforehand so they slow down enough to grab a hold of them. The Thief Vocation is ideal for this due to its dexterity and stabbing skills, letting you deal massive damage to a weak spot.
In some cases, grabbing onto an enemy can yield interesting results. For example, if you grapple with a Gryphon, you may end up being flown back to its nest.
That’s everything you need to know about grabbing objects and climbing on enemies in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Just be careful what you’re climbing, you never know where you might end up.
