There’s an assortment of vocations you can test and try in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and the Archer has ended up being one of my favourites – so I’m here to bring you the best Archer build in the game so you can start firing a flurry of arrows in no time.

Much like the Thief class, the Archer has an assortment of skills and weapons that make it an extremely powerful starting vocation, before eventually developing into some of the more intermediate classes, like the Magick Archer.

The build you’ll find below is the one I’ve been developing throughout Dragon’s Dogma 2 so far with an assortment of different skills that provide you with plenty of attack options:

Skills

Weapon Skills

Keen Sight, Tempest Shot, Manifold Shot, Deathly Arrow, Sweeping Shot

Core Skills

Parting Shot, Swift Knock, Steady Shot

Augments

Endurance, Ambuscade

Weapon

Bespoke Bow (early) Veteran’s Arc (late)

Rings

Ring of Tenacity/Ring of Proximity

Tempest Shot ended up being my favourite skill by far. While you can’t move during an attack, it fires so many arrows that it can completely melt a large enemy’s health bar in a few seconds.

Additionally, one of the most important core skills you’ll want to grab as early as possible is the Swift Knock. The faster you have your arrows ready, the more chance you’ll have to attack after getting into the perfect position.

The Ring of Proximity is by far one of the best rings you can use on the Archer. While you’ll typically want to keep your distance, if you’re finding it difficult to move or have an enemy charging you, the closer you are to them, the more damage you’ll deal.

Of course, the Archer also comes with a variety of arrows to use. I favoured alternating between the Tarring Arrows and Explosive Arrows to deal some significant damage and get larger foes burning to whittle down their health.

As a bonus, I’d also advise getting a mage in your team of Pawns. That way, if you’re stationary, you can get them to create a healing aura around you, or ignite your bow so that your arrows will have a burning effect.

  • Keen Sight
  • Tempest Shot
  • Manifold Shot
  • Deathly Arrow
  • Sweeping Shot

As I mentioned in the build above, my favourite method of whittling down enemy health bars was by assuming a safe position at a mid-range distance and peppering them with a flurry of arrows by using Tempest Shot.

What it lacks in mobility, it more than makes up for in ferocity, especially when your Pawns are climbing all over larger enemies, allowing you to get plenty of shots in.

Keen Sight is also particularly helpful when you want to get some early hits in from a greater distance or chip away at some pesky harpies before you move in for a closer attack.

The Veteran's Arc bow for the Archer in Dragon's Dogma 2

  • Bespoke Bow
  • Veteran’s Arc

I made sure to pick up the Bespoke Bow from Vernworth and enhanced it with scales to get a very powerful bow early on and used it for a huge portion of Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, as you progress and get stronger weapons, I leaned more toward the Veteran’s Arc as a great late-game alternative.

The Archer Attacking in Dragon's Dogma 2

The Archer is by far one of the best classes in Dragon’s Dogma 2, with its assortment of ranged attacks, it can hit precise areas on an enemy to inflict significant damage while staying (relatively) out of harm’s way.

The arrows, imbued with various effects, chip away at enemies in no time and help your Pawns as they move in for some powerful close-quarter combat.
