The Gauntlet is a brand-new way to compete in Diablo 4 solo or with friends, and see how you compare to other Diablo 4 players!

This primer details everything you need to know about The Gauntlet, including how to enter it and what you get for scoring highly on the leaderboard in the game's new endgame activity.

What is The Gauntlet in Diablo 4?

The Gauntlet is a special weekly dungeon set to debut in Diablo 4 as part of Season 3 on January 23, 2024. It's a fixed seed, non-linear dungeon, so all entrants will endure identical experiences with the same exact monsters and layout.

While you can't collect loot in The Gauntlet, you'll receive a bunch of goodies at the conclusion of your attempt. The idea of The Gauntlet is to test the skills of Diablo 4 adventurers in a uniform dungeon where the only differentiating factors are the players themselves!

How to enter The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet is accessible after reaching World Tier 4 on the Seasonal Realm, but you don't have to be Level 100 to get in.

How to score points & climb the leaderboard in The Gauntlet

The objective of The Gauntlet is to score as many points as possible, and you do that by acquiring Proofs of Might. You can get Proofs of Might by slaying monsters, opening chests, and completing other activities inside The Gauntlet.

To see how you stack up in The Gauntlet, check out the leaderboards! The Gauntlet features a variety of brackets, separated by class, party size, and Hardcore/non-Hardcore status. Furthermore, you can filter the leaderboards by platform, region, friends, etc.

The leaderboards display the top 1000 players in each specific bracket, and at the end of each week, the leaderboards will reset, paving the way for new adventurers to rise to the top!

Rewards

The Gauntlet Seals and portrait frames in Diablo 4

After completing The Gauntlet, you will receive a Seal corresponding to your score and how well you did. You can improve your Seal by performing better in The Gauntlet, with the Seal of the Worthy serving as the most prestigious Seal, only awarded to the top 1000 players in a particular leaderboard bracket. Seals come with portrait frames that you can use to flex your prowess in The Gauntlet.

If you can manage to finish the week among the top ten players in any leaderboard bracket, your name will be engraved in the Hall of the Ancients, a permanent leaderboard showcasing the best-of-the-best from each week for eternity!

That's the basics of The Gauntlet in Diablo 4. Tune into the Developer Update Livestream on January 18, 2024, to learn more about The Gauntlet, or wait until Season 3 on January 23, 2024, to test the new competitive leaderboard system yourself!
