How Long To Beat
Diablo 4 enjoys the occasional puzzle, and this is one of the most dastardly. Secret of the Spring is an early quest in the game, but one that even high-level players might have trouble with. Here is everything you need to know to finish the quest.
How to start Secret of the Spring
The side quest begins at Kylsik Plateau in the Fractured Peaks. Kylsik Plateau is just north-east of Kyovashad. To start the side quest, pick up the Discarded Note outside the Forsaken Quarry Dungeon.
The quest tasks you with solving the note's riddle, which reads, "beacon of warmth in winter's embrace, patience rewarded by nature's own grace".
How do you solve the riddle?
Diablo 4's helpful Quest Tracker takes care of the first half of the riddle for you. If you track the Secret of the Spring side quest and travel northeast to the tiny blue circle on the map, you will come across a hot spring.
However, it's the second part of the riddle that's giving players trouble. We're now at the "beacon of warmth in winter's embrace", but what does "patience rewarded by nature's own grace" mean?
To solve the riddle you must make use of your Diablo 4 emotes. If you open your Emote Wheel. You can open the Emote Wheel by pressing the E key or up on the D-pad.
In this case, "patience" translates to the Wait Emote. The Wait Emote isn't on the Emote Wheel by default, so you will need to customize your Emote Wheel and assign it to the slot of your choosing.
Display patience by using the Wait Emote beside the hot spring. If you do it correctly, a chest will burst to the surface, rewarding you with treasure, Renown, and XP.
