Lord Zir can be found at The Darkened Way in World Tier 4. Beating him requires you to learn to avoid his attacks, and to take advantage of his minions summons.

How Long To Beat
Many endgame players in Diablo 4 will want to do the rounds and take on all the big bosses across Sanctuary, with Lord Zir being one of the toughest to defeat.
Lord Zir requirements
Lord Zir is one of the toughest endgame bosses, requiring you to be at World Tier 4 (Torment 4) before you can take him on. You'll also need nine Exquisite Blood to summon him, which can be earned from world bosses, events, and Hellborne enemies.
If you want to face the Tormented version of Lord Zir, you'll need 27 Exquisite Blood and a Stygian Stone.
Once you've got everything you need, head over to The Darkened Way east of Kyovashad, where he can be found at the centre of the dungeon. I've marked the location on the map above.
How to beat Lord Zir
The first thing to note about Lord Zir is that he has four phases during the fight, with each one triggering when he reaches a certain amount of HP.
Every new phase will cause him to drop health vials for players to use. He also gets minions throughout the fight, but you can turn this to your advantage. You can see the marks on his HP bar to tell when he'll go to a new phase.
He also has a stagger mechanic that allows players to stun him for a short time by overloading him with crowd control abilities. You can see the progress of this below the health bar.
Attacks
Attack |
Effect |
How to avoid |
Slap |
Winds up for a forward slap |
Run behind him when he begins the slap animation |
Blood Rain |
Flaps his wings and releases a rain of blood |
The projectiles mark where they'll land so just avoid those, but you'll also need to get away from the puddles that are left behind |
Blood Talons |
Swipes claws of blood forward after entering a hunched stance |
Watch for his stance change and run behind him |
Wing Blast |
After getting to 66% HP, he'll teleport away and wind up a wing blast which damages and knocks players back |
Watch for the marker on the floor, which indicates where the blast will hit, and run away |
As new phases come in, he doesn't change up his attacks much but does summon minions with blood orbs. You can destroy these orbs straight away to stop the minions from spawning in, but it can be a good tactic to let them spawn and use them to your advantage.
If you have abilities or buffs that are triggered from building up attacks, you can use the minions as fodder to become more powerful and then attack Lord Zir to deal more damage toward him.
If you have lots of crowd control abilities, it's best to focus these on Zir over the minions though, as triggering his stun is a great way to allow everyone to wail on him and deal big chunks of damage.
Tormented version
Not much changes with the Tormented version aside from being more punishing and difficult. The main way this happens is from his abilities dealing a DOT that hurts you over time, meaning you have room for fewer mistakes during the encounter.
It's worth learning how to master dodging these moves in his normal fight before moving on to the Tormented version.
