How To Uninstall MW2 Campaign

Modern Warfare 2 takes up a lot of hard drive space, and if you're looking to free up a few extra gb's, here's how to uninstall the campaign.

Modern Warfare 2 takes up a lot of space, no matter what system you’re on. With numerous components and high-quality graphics to maintain, it’s a constant battle trying to manage available space on your system with such a gargantuan game taking up a huge chunk. Sometimes it seems like it’s more of a battle than playing the game itself.

Thankfully, Modern Warfare 2 has a ton of options to help reduce the space needed. With numerous components, and certain players only being interested in the multiplayer portion of the game, having the ability to reduce the file size is much needed. One way to do this is by uninstalling the campaign component of Modern Warfare 2, and here’s exactly how to do so.

How To Uninstall MW2 Campaign

Depending on what system you’re playing Modern Warfare 2 on, the steps to uninstall the campaign vary. As a result, here is how to uninstall the Modern Warfare 2 campaign on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC:

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

  • Go to the Modern Warfare 2 tile.
  • Press the Start button.
  • Select Manage Game Content.
  • Delete the Campaign.

 

Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S

  • Go to My Games and Apps.
  • Go to the Modern Warfare 2 tile.
  • Press the Start button.
  • Select Manage Game & Add-Ons.
  • Untick the Campaign box.
  • It will now uninstall. 

PC

It’s important to note you can only delete the campaign on Steam. Battle.net users currently how no way to uninstall the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.

  • Go to your Steam Library.
  • Go to the Modern Warfare 2 title.
  • Right-click the tile.
  • Click Properties.
  • Find the DLC portion and untick the campaign to uninstall it.

It’s as simple as that to uninstall the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. It’s also worth mentioning this can be done to uninstall co-op and Warzone 2.0 if you so wish. However, if you ever want to jump into these modes again, or simply check them out, you’ll need to install them again.
