How to fix the "Can't Equip Gold Camo MW2" error
Earning your gold camos in Modern Warfare 2 is hard enough, but then being unable to equip is an even bigger trouble. Here's how to fix the "Can't Equip Gold Camo MW2" error.
Getting the can't equip gold camo MW2 error? Gold camos are a sign of a strong and dedicated player. Many players have unlocked gold camos left, right, and centre, displaying their designs with pride. However, some are struggling to equip their hard-earned rewards thanks to this error.
Even after confirming you’ve completed all the necessary requirements to use a gold camo, the menu customisation menu still doesn’t appear to let you click it. If this is the case then it’s actually a relatively quick and simple solution. Here's how to fix it.
The issue is affecting PC keyboard and mouse users, but it's always worth checking the gold camo is unlocked. After unlocking the four weapon mastery camos, complete the first challenge in the completionist section to unlock the gold variant.
This is where the can't equip gold camo MW2 issue arises. If you’re using a keyboard and mouse, selecting the newly unlocked gold camo might not be possible. Even if it’s locked, it won’t let you know the challenge to unlock it.
Simply use the WASD or arrow keys on your keyboard to select it. Once you’ve done this, press the space bar and equip the gold camo for the gun. Again, make sure the camo itself is definitely unlocked, and if not, complete the challenge it says above when you highlight it.
It’s an easy-to-miss fix for a fairly harmless bug such as the can't equip gold camo MW2 issue, but one many players can easily overlook. We imagine Infinity Ward will soon release an update for PC players to make it simpler to unlock and equip gold camos for their weapons in Modern Warfare 2.
You can also grab some extra goodies with the Modern Warfare 2 Twitch drops and if you want to unlock more alongside your camos, here's how to grab all the Operators in Modern Warfare 2.
