The 5 best Stellar Blade skills to learn first
Here are the best Stellar Blade skills you should learn first to get the edge in combat once you start the game, considering all the three starting skill trees.
Picking out the best skills in Stellar Blade to spend SP on first can be overwhelming considering all the options in the game's first three skill trees. That's especially true since, despite their descriptions, it's not 100% clear how effective they'll be while you're still getting used to the combat.
Thankfully, I've tested them myself to pick out the ideal handful of skills you should prioritise first as you start your EVE's build.
Best skills to learn first
These are the five best skills in Stellar Blade you should focus on learning as soon as you can at the start of the game. I've also included the results after I've done some testing with each of the skills:
Skills | Skill Tree | Description | Results |
Ambush | Attack | Executes the enemy from behind. Can only be used on enemies that aren't in combat | Essentially becomes a stealth kill, instantly defeating the enemy if sneaking behind them and pressing the triangle prompt if undetected |
Focus Boost | Survival | Makes it easier to use Perfect Parry | Slightly increases your window for a Perfect Parry, just enough to make an effective difference to perform one more often |
Beta Energy Recharge l | Attack | Recharges more Beta Energy when an Attack Lands | The strongest first upgrade to quickly gain Beta Energy to use Beta skill attacks more often - very useful |
Beta Energy Recharge I | Survival | Increases the amount of Beta Energy recharged with a successful Perfect Parry | Utilises the combat's emphasis on Perfect Parry being essential for fighting harder Naytiba - letting you use Beta skill attacks far quicker - very useful as well |
Lightning Rush | Attack | Increases the charging distance and Attack Power of Rush | Lets you able to inflict stronger initial hits against enemies to make encounters easier and faster |
While not upgrading each combat mechanic fully, each skill will elevate your skill in key areas; recharging Beta Energy quicker to use more special skills, unlocking what's essentially stealth kills, and bettering your ability to pull off a Perfect Parry; to make you more capable in making it through the early parts of Eidos 7.
However, keep in mind that some of these skills will have others to unlock as prerequisites to make these idea abilities available e.g. to unlock Ambush, you'll first need to unlock the Assault skill - which is still useful but not as valuable.
So, you'll not only need to save up extra SP for the more expensive skills but those which need unlocking as prerequisites as well.
There'll also be extra upgrades for the above-mentioned skills for later in the game as well, such as Beta Energy Recharge ll - recharging even more Beta Energy than Beta Energy Recharge I - which you can prioritise if you wish.
