Infinity Ward

Nothing screams 'consistency' and 'perfection' like the best M4 Modern Warfare 2 loadout. Having been a staple gun in the Call of Duty franchise ever since its four-round burst M4A1 variant hit the streets back in the 'golden age', the M4 is back and just as brilliant as always. But the real reason you're here is for the loadout, right? Well, here's the best MW2 M4 loadout.

Best M4 Loadout In MW2 - Attachments

Like all guns, the M4 comes with quite a bounce in its base value. However, some quick attachment changes, and you'll soon have that old reliable feel back and craft the M4 into a deadly Assault Rifle. The iron sights are as bliss as always, meaning no optic is needed. You will, however, want to look towards having a stable stock and rear grip that manages the recoil while opting for a muzzle and barrel that do the dirty work for its range and velocity.

With the new gunsmith only offering five attachments (a drop-off from the exhausting ten in Vanguard), you will have to be picky with your choices once again, meaning there's no room for a laser or another ammo type just yet. Here's what we recommend as the best Modern Warfare 2 M4 loadout.

  • Barrel - Tempus Hightower 20"
  • Muzzle - Forge-TAC Castle Compensator
  • Underbarrel - VX Pineapple Vert Grip
  • Rear Grip - Sakin ZX Grip
  • Stock - Demo Precision Elite Factory

Best M4 Loadout In MW2 - Perks And Equipment

The M4 is great at both short and long ranges, meaning that your best Modern Warfare 2 M4 loadout should have equipment and perks that have you ready to take on many gun fights. A pistol as your secondary is a no-brainer, and the X13 fully auto is one that can be rather forgiving at close range, while the standard flash-bang and frag nade are always reliable.

The perks overhaul will see you want to select Double Time (as damn this game is slow without it) and scavenger in your Perk 1 slot, with Focus in the second and Quick Fix in the third, given that the regenerative perk has now usurped Ghost. Dead Silence isn't unlocked until you've flown through the levels, but you can always substitute in a mini radar until you unlock the muffled footsteps upgrade.

  • Secondary - X13
  • Tactical - Flash Grenade
  • Lethal - Frag
  • Perk 1 - Double Time & Scavenger
  • Perk 2 - Focus
  • Perk 3 - Quick Fix
  • Field Upgrade - Dead Silence

The M4 will undoubtedly be quite the fixture in Warzone 2 too, but for now, you're best getting used to those recoil patterns in the Modern Warfare 2 beta.
