How to find Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Hisuian Decidueye in Pokemon Legends: Arecus

The Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled Tera Raid can be easily found in Scarlet & Violet by looking out for the black crystals on the map, similar to 7-Star raids of the past.

This Mightiest Mark Hisuian Decidueye will also have Grass Tera Type. So, you'll need to spot the black crystal for the Grass-type symbol on it to identify the raid's location.

Altogether, Hisuian Decidueye's moveset in the 7-Star Tera Raid includes Brave Bird, Bulk Up, Grassy Terrain, Leaf Blade, Shadow Claw, Swords Dance, and Triple Arrows.

The 7-Star boss in this Tera Raid boasts a broad and powerful moveset that reflects its dual Grass and Fighting typing, its bird-like appearance, and its prowess as a strong physical attacker.

Hisuian Decidueye 7-Star Tera Raid weaknesses in Scarlet & Violet

The type weaknesses to remember to help beat 7-Star Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled are Flying, Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic, and Fairy-type attacks - all inflicting 2x super-effective damage except for Flying-type moves, which deal 4x super-effective damage.

Whilst there are quite a number of type weaknesses to exploit, Hisuian Decidueye's broad type coverage by its moveset still makes it quite a tough boss to deal with.

So, in order to beat this 7-Star Raid in Scarlet & Violet, you will need to use one of the best Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters listed below.

Best Hisuian Decidueye 7-Star Tera Raid moveset counters

Corviknight

Corviknight, one of the best Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Corviknight is one of the best Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters that come to mind first that when wanting to know how to beat the Unrivaled boss. This is due to its naturally high Defense and HP stats - being able to take hits from the boss' physical moveset, and its Steel and Flying typing resisting Decidueye's most powerful move, Triple Arrows.

The best Corviknight Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid build is as follows:

  • Ability: Mirror Armor
  • Nature: Adamant
  • Tera Type: Flying
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Bulk Up, Drill Peck, Reflect, Roost

Reflect is mainly a backup to keep your potentially more delicate raid party members from fainting, the main focus of this Corviknight build will be buffing your Attack and Defense with Bulk Up before hitting with Drill Peck for 2x super-effective damage - then recovering any health lost with the held Shell Bell. Although, Roost works as an alternate for recovery as well if Hisuian Decidueye manages to get any critical hits in.

As a bonus, Mirror Armor will also reflect any Defense stat drops from Triple Arrows back onto Decidueye instead.

Torkoal

Torkoal, one of the best Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

If you're after one of the bulkiest special attackers amongst Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters, Torkoal is the one for you. Not only is the Coal Pokemon resistant to Decidueye's Leaf Blade, but its Shell Armor ability will completely nullify Triple Arrow's heightened chances of landing a critical hit as well.

The best Torkoal Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid build is as follows:

  • Ability: Shell Armor
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Fire
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Clear Smog, Iron Defense, Lava Plume, Shell Smash

For myself especially, I had to frequently use Clear Smog to eliminate Hisuian Decidueye's Bulk Up stat boosts. Otherwise, you'll want to focus on alternating between Iron Defense to aptly increase your Defense stat by two stages, which will lessen the risk of using Shell Smash; boosting Atk, Sp. Atk, and Speed but lowering Def and Sp. Def by one stage each; then using Lava Plume for heightened damage with a 30% chance of leaving a Burn status as well.

Clodsire

Clodsire, one of the best Hisuian Decidueye the Unrivaled counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Clodsire makes for the perfect choice among the best Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters if you want to completely nullify Bulk Up stat buffs from the get-go thanks to its Unaware ability. Adding to a semi-defensive moveset and type resistance to Triple Arrows, you can't go wrong with choosing this Paldean Wooper evolution.

The best Clodsire Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid build is as follows:

  • Ability: Unaware
  • Nature: Bold
  • Tera Type: Poison
  • Hold Item: Leftovers
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Acid Spray, Recover, Stockpile, Sludge Wave

Alternating between Stockpile to bolster your own defences and Acid Spray to debuff Hisuian Decidueye's Sp. Def, your Clodsire can then use Sludge Wave for super-effective damage or use Recover to get back any HP lost in the meantime. With Leftovers adding small health recoveries each turn as well, this Clodsire build is ideal for playing the long game whilst bringing down Decidueye slowly but surely.

The best Pokemon for Decidueye raid

Iron Moth

Iron Moth, the best counter Pokemon for 7-Star Hisiuian Decidueye Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The best Pokemon for the Decidueye Raid altogether is Iron Moth, though the previous three Tera Raid counters are great choices in their own right. Against Decidueye the Unrivaled, Iron Moth's Fire and Poison typing provides it 0.5x and 0.25x resistances to the boss' Fighting and Grass-type attacks, saving you damage against most of its moveset from the get-go.

The ideal answer to how to beat 7-Star Decidueye, the best Iron Moth build is as follows:

  • Ability: Quark Drive
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Poison
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Acid Spray, Fiery Dance, Lunge, Sludge Wave

Following uses of Acid Spray to lower Hisuian Decidueye's Sp. Def by two stages each whilst peppering with 40 power plus STAB damage, the the main objective of this Iron Moth build as a counter is to eventually get big hits of Fiery Dance in - with 80 base power also with STAB damage, also potentially boosting its Sp. Atk by one stage at the same time.

Although a physical move, Lunge is great to have ready to use since it also drops Decidueye's Attack by one stage to nullify its boost from Bulk Up, or partially nullify a Swords Dance boost. For when Decidueye the Unrivalled's health gets low enough and you're ready to deal the final blows, you can switch to Sludge Wave as your damage-dealing move since it has a higher 95 base power - still pairing with STAB damage to boot.

That's everything you need to know about the best Pokemon to use as Hisuian Decidueye Tera Raid counters in Scarlet & Violet.
