Apex Legends is deeply competitive, but only a few can secure a position in the very upper echelon of the ALGS, so who is the best of the best?
Determining the best Apex Legends players in the ALGS is a tough task considering how much talent is packed onto every single roster. Not only that, there are competitors who are brilliant shot callers and leaders, as well as those who are mechanical gods, so which of these attributes is more important comes down to each individual team.
However, there are some players that need no introduction and are without a doubt top-tier competitors in the ALGS. So, let's break down the best pros in the Apex Legends competitive scene.
Vein - Oxygen
A veteran of the Apex Legends scene, Nicholas 'Vein' Hobbs is an immensely talented player who is part of the Oxygen Esports roster. Having won the ALGS Championship back in 2021 with Kungarna, he's been on a path to prove the impressive victory was not just a one-off.
Since joining Oxygen he's been a menace in the ALGS, achieving a third-place finish behind DarkZero and TSM in the Split 2 Playoffs. However, a disappointing 16th place in finals is something Vein will be looking to put right in 2024, and we're confident he'll do exactly that.
Gnaske - Pioneers
Casper 'Gnaske' Præstensgaard is Pioneers IGL and consistently racks impressive results with a huge smile on his face. Never failing to bring the energy to LAN and get the crowd on their feet, Gnaske has been on an upward trajectory with his team.
While he may not have the mechanical reputation of other players in the ALGS, his leadership is what stands him above the rest. It'll be exciting to see what 2024 brings for Gnaske and the Pioneers.
Genburten - DarkZero
Well, where to start with Noyan 'Genburten' Ozkose and anyone on the DarkZero roster - their accolades speak for themselves. The ALGS 2022 Championship and the ALGS 2023 Split 2 Playoffs are just a few of Gen's achievements, meaning he's always a player to watch in any competition he's involved in.
World-class mechanics and clutch factor are huge parts of Genburten's game, allowing him to win duals even when the odds are against him. If that wasn't enough, his shots are always pinpoint accurate and pressure during intense skirmishes never seems to affect him.
The end of 2023 was rough for Gen though, with DarkZero falling out of the Championship extremely early. He'll be looking to rectify this in 2024.
ImperialHal - TSM
The CEO is the face of the Apex Legends competitive scene and it's easy to see why. As the IGL of one of the most popular organisations in esports, Philip 'ImperialHal' Dosen is both mechanically gifted and someone who has consistently led his team to victory.
Known for his commanding approach and top-tier decision-making, you can never count TSM out of a competition when Hal is in a match. Having taken home the 2023 Split 1 Playoffs, then rounding out the year with a brilliant victory at the 2023 Championship, don't expect Hal to lose his hunger for more trophies in 2024.
Verhulst - TSM
The controller king of TSM, Evan 'Verhulst' Verhulst's mechanics are incredible to behold, especially when paired with the leadership of his teammate ImperialHal. When it comes to clutch gunfights, Verhulst stands well above the rest, capable of dishing out ridiculous damage in every single match.
In sticky situations, TSM can rely on him to come out on top and that clutch factor is essential in LANs where the match point format truly puts the pressure on. Similar to Hal, expect Verhulst's success to continue in 2024.
