How to get beasts
To open up your very own vivarium, you must first advance through the main quests and attend your first beasts class. Professor Howin teaches you all about Puffskeins & Kneazles, and you even get your first encounter with a Hippogriff.
Following this, also via the main quests titled ‘The Elf, The Nab-Sack, And The Loom’, you are then able to venture out into the wild and catch beasts yourself.
Some of you may be thinking, is it cruel to capture beasts from their wild habitat? Well, all beasts are being hunted by the notorious poachers in the game, so you are doing them a service and keeping them safe.
During the quest, Deek shows you the nab-sack, which you can use when you’re close enough to a beast. In order to use the nab-sack, you simply need to assign this to your spell loadout and use it when close enough to a beast, while pressing the button prompted on the screen to pull the beast in.
Deek will take you back to your vivarium, in which you'll let out your beasts.
How to tame beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
Following this, you let the beasts out safely within the Room of Requirement, this is where you can tame them.
Simply head into your vivarium, add the brush and food into your spell loadout, and walk up to your beast. When either brushing or feeding, you'll notice a green symbol. Just simply get both of these green, where you'll be presented with a 'press Square / X to collect'. You can then use these on looms.
