How to use a controller on BattleBit Remastered
While BattleBit Remastered does not yet offer official controller support, you can still use a controller if you follow the steps in this primer!
Interested in trying out BattleBit Remastered but wondering if you can use a controller? BattleBit Remastered is only available on PC, so naturally, keyboard and mouse are the default input. If you're a controller user at heart, this primer will teach you exactly how to use a controller on BattleBit Remastered.
Can you play BattleBit Remastered with a controller?
Yes, you can play BattleBit Remastered with a controller. However, as BattleBit Remastered is still in Early Access, the game does not feature official controller support. Instead, wannabe controller users must jump through a few hoops in a temporary workaround from the developers themselves.
How do you use a controller in the game?
The workaround to playing BattleBit Remastered with a controller emulates the keyboard and mouse by using Community Configurations on Steam.
First, open your Steam Settings. Next, open the Controller tab in the sidebar. Here, you must enable Steam Input for the controller you want to use, whether that be an Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, or generic controller.
With that taken care of, copy and paste the appropriate Community Configurations into your browser (steam://controllerconfig/671860/2995591127) and apply the layout. Now, boot up BattleBit Remastered and enable the following settings under Controls:
- Toggle Lean
- Toggle Dragging Players
- Toggle Sprint
Just like that, you can use a controller on BattleBit Remastered. For a smoother experience, BattleBit Remastered's resident controller player, See12Run, recommends running these sensitivity settings with a controller:
Mouse
- Vertical: 274
- Horizontal: 272
ADS
- Vertical: 181
- Horizontal: 177
These sensitivity settings are a fine starting point, but feel free to tweak them as you see fit.
An important thing to note about using a controller on BattleBit Remastered is that there is absolutely no aim assist. Aim assist has become commonplace in shooters that support controllers, so the lack of aim assist in BattleBit Remastered will likely feel weird to players accustomed to using a controller. The developers don't plan on adding aim assist either — even after they release official controller support.
Now that you have your controller ready, check out the BattleBit Remastered gun tier list.
