To become a Master Assassin of the Hidden Ones, you'll want to know what disguises are in Assassin's Creed Mirage, and learn how the mechanic works for letting you take out targets much easier.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a return to the basics of the series, focusing on stealth action and investigating targets until you get the green light to take them out. The game sees you travel across ancient Baghdad uncovering a deadly plot, and with this comes new mechanics like Tokens and disguises to try out on missions.

If you want a full explanation of how the disguises work in Assassin's Creed Mirage, read on below.

Disguises, or costumes, are cosmetic gear you can equip over your armour to change the appearance of Basim, while also allowing you to blend in to specific locations without being spotted by guards.

There are only a few locations we know of in the game where players can use disguises, and it's worth noting they are entirely optional, with there being other ways to assassinate targets during the missions you can wear a disguise.

To know if you can use disguises effectively during an Assassin's Creed Mirage assassination mission, you'll need to look for an orange hood icon. These provide opportunities for you to get closer to the target while wearing the disguise.

For example, during the Al-Rabisu assassination mission, you can don the White Patient Robe to blend in as a test subject and get closer to the target, making it much easier to kill them.

I found that the disguises in AC Mirage add another layer of choice to the assassination gameplay, as you're given multiple tools to try and kill your target in your own way. It's not a frequent thing in the game, but it may be a mechanic the devs were testing for future entries.

There are a couple of disguises in Assassin's Creed Mirage available to the player, but it's worth noting not all costumes in the game work as disguises - even though they occupy the same inventory slot.

Here are all the disguises in the game that we've found so far:

  • White Patient Robe
  • Eunuch Tunic

The rest of the costumes in the game don't appear to work as disguises in any meaningful way, so you'll still be noticed by guards when wearing them.

That's all for our breakdown of how disguises work in Assassin's Creed Mirage, and now you know what function they serve in the game.
