Is There Cross Progression In Apex Legends?
As of writing this, Apex Legends still has no cross progression features, meaning you won't be able to take your profile with you when playing the game on a different platform. This essentially means that your rank, cosmetics, unlocks, and more cannot be transferred and are only available on the platform you actively play on. The only exception to this rule is on PC, where you can transfer progress between the Origin and Steam launchers.
While there's still no official word on when cross progression will be added, the developers have publicly spoken about the feature being on their to-do list. Back in 2020, the ex-director of Apex Legends, Chad Grenier, commented on a Reddit thread in r/apexlegends about cross progression.
"It's something we are very passionate about, and we're looking at our options available" Grenier stated. "[It's] much harder post-launch since users may have multiple accounts to merge or use. We'll give an update when we have something to talk about."
It's been well over two years since Grenier made this comment, and he even left Respawn toward the end of 2021, but as of 2022, Respawn appears to still be developing the feature. On December 17, a senior producer on the game, Josh Medan, tweeted "I look forward to the announcement of these things when they are done and ready", referring to cross progression.
It is definitely still in the works based on the information we have, but we can only make guesses on when the feature will be announced or released.
That's all for our breakdown of the question, is there cross progression in Apex Legends? Now you know the feature still isn't in the game, but it is in active development by Respawn.
