Apex Rumble is a brand-new tournament system coming to Apex Legends, and this alternative to Ranked Mode is similar (but also different enough) from what Apex Legends players might be used to.

So let's review all the details of the game's latest competitive playlist: Apex Rumble.

What is Apex Rumble?

Apex Rumbles are unique pop-up tournaments in Apex Legends, pairing participants against similarly skilled competitors to earn points and climb the leaderboards.

Apex Rumble debuts with the Urban Assault Collection Event on April 23, 2024. The first iteration of Apex Rumble is titled Urban Assault Rumble and consists of matches of the fan-favourite Three Strikes. Check the Apex Rumble tab in-game and stay tuned to the Apex Legends social channels for announcements regarding future tournaments.

How Apex Rumble works

Like in Ranked Mode, you get points for placement, kills, and assists, but in Apex Rumble, you earn points for damage, too. Personally, nothing irritates me more than when a third-party player cleans up my weakened target, and I lose out on potential points because of it, so this change is long overdue. You can't team up in Apex Rumble, either!

You're only allowed so many games to obtain points, but if you aren't happy with your performance, you can spend Legend Tokens to reset your score and have another go at it. When an Apex Rumble ends, competitors will receive exclusive rewards based on their overall placement in the tournament.

Apex Rumble is a solo queuer's dream, and the addition of a live leaderboard really helps scratch that competitive itch. It's still in beta, though, so don't be shocked if the developers make changes based on feedback!

To increase your odds of success in Apex Rumble, study the meta and focus on using the best weapons and Legends available in the current season of Apex Legends. For more on the free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, check out our Apex Legends homepage.
