Diablo Immortal is here. And it depends on who you ask that determines whether that's a good thing or not.
The new mobile title set in the universe of PC icon Diablo has been making waves in the few days that it's been out, with the game making some surprising PR movies with Metal and Punk bands, as well as its pretty egregious microtransactions that, naturally, fans have hated from the second they stepped through the gate.
It's typical of a free-to-play mobile game, but some fans have taken to the internet to claim that these microtransactions are a step too far - and YouTubers have calculated just how brutal these money-making schemes are.
It'll Cost Over $100k To Fully Level Your Diablo Immortal Character
As it turns out, if you want to fast-track the levelling of your character in Diablo Immortal, it's going to cost you an insane sum of money to reach max level.
According to the new video by YouTube Channel Bellular News, the game's 'Legendary Gems' are a currency designed to be deliberately obtuse, and their application means that the only reasonable course of action to level up is to pay for it - and it'll cost players a pretty penny.
By their estimation, if you want to take your character from level one all the way to the max level, with all of the gear you'll need to really stand a chance, you're going to have to pay at worst, around $110,000.
It's equally frustrating that Legendary Gems aren't actually purchasable - you have to get lucky and bag them with loot boxes. Yikes.
What Is Diablo Immortal's Level Cap?
The game's level cap comes to level 60, but reaching this level gives players the opportunity to change the game's difficulty.
There are a few ways to get here - you can complete the game's campaign missions and level up through the battle pass, but sadly, the most efficient way to level up is to roll the dice with loot boxes and hope for some Legendary Gems.
The game has been controversial, but so far, it's been a roaring success. Of course it has. Diablo Immortal is here to stay, for better or worse.
