XDefiant players are fed up of CoD kids' sniper complaints

XDefiant players are leaping to the defence of snipers, claiming that Call of Duty's golden ages were much worse.

Current Call of Duty players might not remember the golden age of sniping, and despite Modern Warfare 2's best efforts to roll back the years with the Intervention, there's little room for snipers of that calibre in the series anymore. That's evident by the recent Kar98k nerfs, as the dominant sniper days are over.

But maybe there is scope for snipers to stay dominant in XDefiant, as some players are defending the OP one-shot guns that are running rito in Ubisoft's new shooter - showcasing just how great MW2's Intervention was.

XDefiant players have had enough of sniper complaints

XDefiant has championed "skill gaps" allowing players to be better than their counterparts by using advanced movement and pairing their attacks with savvy abilities.

But some have vocalised their gripes with snipers, which are extremely overpowered in the right hands (and useless in other players' hands). It takes skill to use them.

One player has had enough, though, and has taken to Reddit to point out that the sniper class once reigned supreme in the most nostalgic era of first-person shooters.

The Reddit post has also received considerable support, with over 8,000 upvotes and numerous comments rallying behind the defence of snipers.

"Kids complaining about quickscoping in XD today would snap their MW2 disc in half and then take an axe to their TV if they played in those lobbies back then," one fan said. Another added, "Proof that XDefiant players would never survive a MW2 lobby."

Sniping is a hard balance to get right, and let's remember the health in MW2 was significantly less than that in XDefiant, making it easier to combat snipers. But, when you had players dropping nukes on a regular basis with an Intervention in hand, is it that hard to find a new counter to snipers in XDefiant? Maybe a slide cancel or two?
