Blizzard's World of Warcraft has persisted like few games have, and its fans haven't given up on it through seemingly endless expansions. The fantasy title that was once synonymous with gaming at large is perhaps more popular than ever, with Blizzard keeping up excitement via fresh updates.
As a new expansion approaches, fans are bracing for impact once its alpha concludes. It's coming soon, so players don't have long. But as it turns out, there's a fresh physical Collector's Edition to go with it.
World of Warcraft's The War Within begins in alpha this week
Blizzard has revealed that World of Warcraft's The War Within expansion is gearing up for an alpha this week, inviting select players into the fray to try it out ahead of everyone else.
The expansion offers players the chance to try the new Isle of Dorn quests, two new dungeons, Cinderbew Meadery and The Rookery, new delves, and more. Players will also be able to earn a new testable talent tree for most classes, giving them some unique abilities to play with.
Alongside this news comes the reveal of a brand-new physical Collector's Edition, featuring a hardcover art book, a collector's pin, a Gryphon Rider statue, and a Game Key for The War Within featuring some huge in-game bonuses.
You'll be able to bag three days of early access to the expansion, an enhanced level 70 character boost, and a free 30 days of game time, along with a collection of cosmetics and currencies.
It's an exciting time to be a World of Warcraft fan, even though we've been hit with bad news. As well as there likely not being another attempt to make a Warcraft movie anytime soon, Blizzard has had to come forward to address claims that it was using generative AI to develop the game.
