Ahead of Season 3 in Warzone, the KATT-AMR and the XRK Stalker were the premium Snipers for taking down foes in Battle Royale.

However, since Advanced Warfare's MORS has arrived on the scene, the weapon has been utterly dominant and unquestionably the number one option.

With competitors shooting each other through the ground with the MORS, it's safe to say the rifle was a little overturned. To address this, the devs rolled out some significant nerfs to the gun on April 17, all in the hopes of dialling down its power.

MORS Sniper Rifle hit with big nerfs in Warzone

As showcased by the popular Call of Duty account ModernWarzone, the devs have brought down the nerf hammer on the MORS Sniper.

For starters, its base penetration has been reduced, and the Photonic Charge Barrel will no longer provide "uncapped penetration." This means the days of shooting opponents through 10 feet of rock or the ground beneath your feet are over.

If that wasn't enough, the penetration multiplier of the HVP Anti-Material Slug ammo has also been dialled back. Overall, these changes just affect the MORS Sniper's ability to wall bang, but its powerful bullet velocity, damage output, and solid ADS time remain untouched.

What's the best Sniper in Warzone Season 3?

Even with these nerfs, the MORS remains the best Sniper in Season 3 by a considerable margin. This comes down to the fact that it has top-tier bullet velocity, while also having more speed than bulkier options like the KATT-AMR.

While wall-banging enemies through the floor is no longer possible, this was never the primary reason why players were using the weapon anyway.

According to WZStats, since the changes, the MORS' pick rate has dropped a little to 7%, but it still holds the crown as the most popular Sniper.
