While Urzikstan, Fortune's Keep, and Vondel are all brilliant maps in the current iteration of Warzone, none of them compare to Verdansk in the eyes of the community.

The classic location was the golden era for Call of Duty's battle royale and with rumours Activision is bringing it back, excitement is building amongst the playerbase.

However, some fans are concerned that Verdansk’s highly-anticipated return will be a disappointment as the game has changed so much.

According to them, the map won't "flow" or feel the same unless big changes are made to make the game more like the "OG" days.

Warzone fans demand "OG" features for Verdansk when it returns

Diving back down onto Verdansk will be an amazing moment for a lot of old-school Warzone fans, but some are concerned the magic is going to be short-lived.

Taking to the CoDWarzone subreddit, user TheEscortGamer has argued that "Verdansk will fail" if it's simply imported into the modern version of the BR, as the "game won't flow like it did back then."

According to them, the devs need to bring the old-school "WZ feeling back" or they risk ruining the return of the iconic map. In their eyes, that means bigger lobbies, original vehicle mobility, and floating loot just to name a few features.

"Verdansk will fail if it’s not exactly like 2020/2021 Warzone," said one user, with another arguing "I promise you they are going to mess it up by doing exactly this."

Could Verdansk return to Warzone?

Prison Verdansk

Execution of Verdansk aside, a lot of fans just want to know when the location is coming back so they can prepare themselves.

Well, leaks have indicated that it will be at some point in 2024, but as there's been no official announcement, it's impossible to pin down exactly when this will be.

Let's hope the devs have their eyes on the community's feedback so the BR can return to the beloved golden era, and not result in a massive and disappointing flop.
