The new wave of Warzone is looking quite tantalising, with streamers bigging it up to be back in its prime.
Modern Warfare 3's port will see movement mechanics revert back to a more 2019-like system, while aim assist has reportedly been toned right down, and the new Urzikstan map is reigniting that Verdansk passion.
But not every feature is being met with resounding excitement, as one new killstreak has made Ghost jump out of his skin.
Classic Black Ops 2 killstreak is being added to Warzone
As announced in the CoD Next reveal, the Guardian will be coming to Modern Warfare 3 as a killstreak alongside other returning Black Ops-centric features like the EMP and Hunter Drone (albeit with different names), and it has now been found in Warzone, too.
For those who didn't play Black Ops 2 or the subsequent titles with this killstreak, or for those who simply don't remember, the Guardian is a suppression killstreak which serves a similar purpose to what the Modern Warfare 2 mine did.
The Guardian sends shockwaves in a single direction, scrambling movement and blasting those entrapped in its flare with a slow and tormenting damage tick. This will be best used in Warzone to block off entrances or exits to buildings, alleyways, doors, or stairs.
It'll give the user some well-needed rest to plate up or escape a harrying company of hungry assailants. But it's already causing quite a stir.
Warzone fans are already running scared of the Guardian killstreak
The Guardian also looks set to be a haven for the "sentinel" players, who, to be fair, needed something to help counteract the new movement-heavy meta.
"Campers will be happy it's back!" said one fan on Twitter. A second exasperated fan added, "Riot shields and now this *cry emoji*." Some more menacing fans look forward to using this to torture opponents.
"I loved blocking entrances with this mf just to f**k with people. I didn’t even camp Lmfao. Also, it’s really fun to use with infected game modes. I love the microwave gun, " one person also said on Twitter.
Depending on the population of the Guardian in Warzone matches, this killstreak could soon become one of the most overpowered features in the game, especially when the storm is on your heels.
