Warzone faces peril as Fortnite steals Resurgence model

In the battle of the games, it seems that Call of Duty" Warzone's most popular game mode has just been stolen by Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3's new Reload mode.

It has become obvious that the Warzone developers have switched focus away from the large-scale battle royale experience that was so popular on Verdansk, and instead, have weighted importance on the respawn-heavy small-map mode known as Resurgence.

Resurgence appears to be much more popular than the larger battle royale modes on Urzikstan, serving as a blend between multiplayer and Warzone's true nature. But Warzone could be in great peril, as a competitor for this mode has finally arrived, and it comes with an Epic-sized fleet.

Fortnite introduces a new respawn mode: Reload

Fortnite has officially announced a new game mode named Reload. The concept is familiar: A smaller map (which is inspired by the Fortnite OG designs, to our joy), fewer squads, quad mode, and a respawn timer, but only one team can win.

If you die in this mode, unlike in BR, you can automatically respawn if at least one of your team members is alive. Rift drops come in frequently, and the action scarcely ceases up, giving us some real Resurgence vibes.

Fortnite Reload is also an official mode rather than something accessed through Creative, which means the population will be dense, which sparks quite a fear for fans of Warzone.

Warzone fans worried as Fortnite steals Resurgence mode

Fortnite Reload is a carbon copy of Warzone Resurgence, which is quite ironic considering that the Call of Duty BR once served as Fortnite's biggest threat way back when.

"Fortnite added resurgence Warzone is SOOOOO CANCELLED," said one worried fan on X (formerly Twitter). Other Warzone fans are already planning to jump ship. "So this is essentially Fortnite’s version of Warzone Rebirth. I am so down," added a second fan.

A third said, "Ah so just like rebirth mode on Call of Duty. This is absolute peak." Warzone's player base has already diminished, so cutting out the heart of Resurgence might just be the nail in the Call of Duty battle royale's coffin.
