As Black Ops 6 looks to revolutionise Warzone (again) players are starting to get mixed signals about what is in store for the battle royale's future.

Verdansk appears to be late, but Resurgence is getting more love. Loot systems appear to be scrapped, but new perks are on the way. Like a Warzone Hokey Cokey, it's one step forward and one step back.

After its trial in Mutations, a new unlimited sprint perk appears to be coming as a mainstay perk, meaning the back foot has jolted backwards again as fans are accusing the developers of gatekeeping fluidity behind perks.

Warzone's new perks accused of 'gatekeeping fluid gameplay'

With the rumoured arrival of Unlimited Tac Sprint as a perk in Warzone when Black Ops 6 integrates alongside omnimovement, Call of Duty fanatics are claiming that this should be a change that everyone gets so that it doesn't detract from other pre-existing loadout options.

"This needs to be a default perk for Warzone (like climbing boots, tac pads, overkill, etc.) not something we have to get from a loadout," said content creator Isaac "IceManIsaac" Hamilton.

"Stop gatekeeping fluid gameplay behind perks and loot. Stop prioritizing realism (gun sway, jump penalties, visual recoil, etc.) over fun," he added. Other players agree, too. "I don’t get the reason to hold fluid movement above our heads and then make us use a perk to feel the best movement," said another fan.

Someone else chimed in, saying, "Everyone will run this why not just make it default." Tac Sprint itself has often been a hot topic, with the automatic TS being criticised and even banned in pro lobbies, although in Warzone, it is less game-breaking than in multiplayer.

Still, maybe it is time that we opened the doors to quicker gameplay, even if the average Joe might not be able to keep up. Balanced with some more damaging long-range weapons, there's no reason why campers and demons alike can't both live harmoniously in Warzone (until the circle gasses them out anyway).
