It's no secret that Call of Duty continues to struggle with cheaters. With each yearly release, we see the mainline game's multiplayer plagued with cheaters like an infection Edward Richtofen would be proud of - all while the RICOCHET anti-cheat is supposed to stop them in their tracks.

Still, seeing cheaters flying around in the air of Modern Warfare 3 is nothing compared to the issues Warzone faces. The OG Warzone was nuked into the ground and got a whole new version that was supposed to eradicate cheaters, but if anything, they're worse than ever.

Mutation Resurgence accused of purposefully adding cheaters

Now, the devs themselves have been accused of adding cheaters to Warzone. The best part is that it's not some accidental update or exploitable glitch, but a full-blown cheat-friendly mode that's coming as part of Season 4 Reloaded.

Even as we keep our eyes on the prize of Black Ops 6, Warzone is keeping its MW3 theming. The big news coming from Season 4 Reloaded is the addition of Warzone's Mutation Resurgence mode. This radioactive quads mode sees the Popov Power Plant go green and empower us with mutant abilities.

The official CoD blog outlines what's coming, with Mutation Resurgence outlining seven new abilities. You'll have to have your wits about you to make the most of BioshieldDivebombMutant Leap, Toxic Stim CloudSlude SlingMutant Cloak, and Mutant Vision. In particular, some of these have some pretty cheaty perks.

With Mutant Cloak turning you invisible and Mutant Vision letting you see through walls, these are two abilities that are frequently offered by those cheat sites Activision is always trying to sue into oblivion. Others like Mutant Leap letting you cross vast distances also sound a little sus.

When the @ModernWarzone account shared a breakdown of the mutant abilities, one fan chuckled, "My god they couldn't stop cheats so they added them to the game 😭😭😭😭," while another added, "Invisibility? F*****G WHY!!!!???"

Someone else said, "Sounds like you took some advice on giving regular gamers some cheats. Might be fun let's just hope the hackers don't get to exploit/stack them. On top of stim glitches right before the match starts and so on."

Others called out the comparisons between the divisive Advanced Warfare, with someone concluding, "This is literally some advanced warfare gameplay and I'm not even kidding. Divebomb is the Exo Dive thing Mutant Cloak is the Exo cloak ability Mutant Vision sounds like the snapshot grenades from AW."

The idea that you're going 'invisible' isn't quite true because luminous footprints will give away your location, but for casual players who want to play a standard match of CoD, we can see why these abilities are winding them up. After all, how much did Fortnite fans hate the Avatar mythical
