Season 5 of Warzone 2 may have only just arrived, but the community is already shifting its attention to the future and what’s coming next.

One of the most anticipated dates in the Call of Duty calendar is Halloween, as the holiday often brings some of the best cosmetics and most exciting content.

Back in 2020, The "Haunting of Verdansk" was one of the most popular events in the original battle royale, bringing darkness and spooky characters from well-known films to the CoD franchise. Well, dataminers have found references to a new Haunting event that's scheduled to come to Warzone 2 for Halloween.

The Haunting event is coming to Warzone 2 for Halloween

Taking to Twitter on August 2, popular Call of Duty account ModernWarzone revealed that dataminers have found references to another 'Haunting' event scheduled to come to WZ2.

While the original event introduced a night-time version of the Verdansk map, it's likely Vondel or Al Mazrah will get the same treatment in Warzone 2. On top of that, it's almost guaranteed that Activision will use this opportunity for crossovers just like they did in the past.

SAW and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre bundles all arrived back on Verdansk, so they may make another appearance in Warzone 2 for the next Haunting. Of course, other horror icons could pop up as well, we'll just have to wait and see.

When could The Haunting event come to Warzone 2?

According to ModernWarzone, the dataminers have indicated that the mysterious "Haunting" will launch in Warzone 2 Season 6. This makes sense, as that aligns roughly with Halloween in late October.

Back in 2020, Activision launched the "Haunting of Verdansk" on October 20, so we can expect a similar date for this event if the leaks are correct. However, we'll just have to wait for more details from the devs before we can pinpoint an exact date and time.

Although there are very few details around the "Haunting" for now, this fan-favourite event is guaranteed to generate a lot of excitement if the Halloween leaks are correct.
