As we prepare for our first deployment from the dropship onto the Resurgence and Battle Royale hybrid map Vondel in Warzone Season 4, it seems like the new map contains a familiar Call of Duty point of interest.
Activision has sprinkled a range of multiplayer maps from previous games into their pre-existing Warzone maps, with Quarry, Highrise, and Afghan being hidden in Al Mazrah and Shipment featuring on Ashika Island.
But as Vondel approaches, it seems like the publishers have dug into their archives again. This time, they've pulled out a Black Ops 2 Easter egg, continuing the trend of hiding multiplayer maps and furthering the links between the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series.
Black Ops 2 Easter egg visible in Vondel Warzone map
Over the last few months, quite a few elements have been popping up in Modern Warfare 2 that have previously been marooned to Treyarch's Black Ops series. It indicates that the two storylines are much more intertwined than we first imagined.
But now, with Vondel launching, the Stadium POI has the most damning crossover yet. The pitch has been taken over by paintball bunkers and covers that appear to be those used in the Black Ops 2 map "Rush"
Rush also featured this paintball-esque layout with inflatable objects to hide behind, and was one of the most loved DLC maps of all time.
Vondel's POIs look familair
The Call of Duty developers have often expressed their love for re-using old elements of maps and adding them into Warzone, with them recently claiming that there were CoD: 4 Easter eggs in Verdansk that nobody had found.
Now though, the Easter eggs are pouring into Vodnel too, in typical Treyarch fashion. It's expected that the map will also feature the multiplayer design of the Breengergh Hotel too.
Vondel appears to be quite the attraction for SMG players, who will have undoubtedly loved Rush back in the day, making it quite a welcomed Easter Egg come launch on June 14.
