The Last of Us proved many things to many people. First, it showcased the narrative championship that Naughty Dog has earned in the video game industry, spearheading what has been regarded as a true renaissance of story-first AAA games.
Second, it proved that video games, as reflected in other media, are no longer in the horrendous slump they once found themselves in. HBO's live-action The Last of Us is huge deal, and it continues to be as fans wait desperately to see something from Season 2. Finally, we have our first look at the next batch of episodes.
HBO reveals first look at TLOU season 2
After plenty of silence about what's going on with The Last of Us Season 2, we've got our very first look at the show's next iteration.
HBO has shared our first look at Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie in The Last of Us' second season, which is expected to tell a good chunk of The Last of Us Part II's story.
Our first look at Joel reveals a new trim as he ages into the story. As evidenced by the hanging lights behind him, he's seemingly in Jackson. We also see Ellie with a shotgun in hand, wearing a big winter coat. The post also reveals that the second series of the show will be coming to HBO and MAX in 2025.
It's an incredibly exciting reveal, coming after the announcement that Booksmart's Kaitlin Dever would be stepping into the huge role of Abby Anderson. With our first look at Ellie and Joel, it's an indication that HBO isn't letting up the force for the second season. Get your tissues and golf clubs at the ready.
