Starfield fans are clearly getting impatient waiting for the Shattered Space DLC, so they've taken it upon themselves to create a huge mod that includes mechs and more.

For all but the most dedicated spacefarers, it seems that the era of Starfield has come to a close for now. The game's release wasn't exactly what Bethesda had hoped for after decades of hopes, with players failing to latch on quite like they had in the heyday of Fallout 3 and Skyrim.
It's a shame, given how much the Starfield team believed in it, but it stands as further proof that the Bethesda game structure is struggling to justify itself at this stage. Things need to change substantially if the company is going to take The Elder Scrolls 6 to the levels that its hype indicates.
For now, we have to hold out hope for Starfield's upcoming Shattered Space DLC to see what comes next - or perhaps, we don't actually have to wait at all.
Starfield fans are making their own DLC packs
During the wait for the Shattered Space DLC, fans are coming up with what to do next in the game, and one player has come through with a great option. It's a mod with an entire DLC's worth of content, packed to bursting with plenty of mechs. Apparently, Starfield fans love mechs.
Tank-girl444 has launched The Galactic Colonies Expanse, boasting giant mechs, the framework for a whole farming system, new production items, new options for settlements, and more. There's also the addition of the bio-dome as a futuristic-looking addition to settlements that can practically house an entire society.
The mod is huge, and the fact that it took only a month to produce is remarkable. If that's not impressive enough, its creator has had to specify that "some of the Titans are indeed overpowered, this is intentional, if you do not like that, do not build them," indicating that there's plenty of fun to be had.
How can I play the Galactic Colonies Expanse mod?
If you want to take the new features for a spin yourself, then you're in luck if you're playing on PC. The mod is a simple download from Tank-girl444's NexusMods page, and from there, you should be able to install it following the instructions to see the almighty power of Starfield's forbidden mechs.
It's great to see that the modding communities of Bethesda games are carrying over to Starfield, a title that currently looks like it won't have the staying power of something like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout 4. Still, providing that fans have something to do about it, it looks like Starfield isn't done yet.
