Players have called out the newly-launched Classic Collection of Star Wars Battlefront games for its horrendous server issues, as too many players are failing to get into matches.

When first revealed, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection seemed like the best idea in the world. Finally, we could go back to the classic games that brought the intergalactic shooter series to life with our friends and blast the hell out of The Empire and/or the Jedi army of clones.
But, as its launch drew nearer, the cracks were beginning to show - the games already exist on digital storefronts, and for cheaper too. Are a couple of new Jedi and an extended list of Hero Mode maps really worth re-buying the games we already have?
The game has officially launched, and it looks like we have our answer. It’s a resounding "no."

The launch of Star Wars Battlefront’s Classic Collection has immediately turned to chaos, as players rush to Steam’s reviews section to reveal that the game’s servers are totally kaput.
The game has supposedly only opened three servers to allow for 64-player games, meaning that less than 200 players can actually play the game at a time.
"As of right now the multiplayer (otherwise known as the only reason to buy this product if you already own the original games) is entirely unplayable, making this game a waste of money until that issue is fixed. Disappointing," reads one review of the game on Steam.
"Probably one of the worst launches of all time, none of us can get in a game and there are only 3 servers lol,” says another. "But I'm looking forward to changing this to a positive."
And yet, the problems don’t end there.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection has a huge file size
If you want to play the games at all (or at least try to), then it’s not just the monetary cost you’ll have to pay - the pair come in at a whopping 63GB, which when remembering that the games are at around 20 years old by now becomes a scandalous ask of players.
We’re at a point in the gaming industry where we’re in need of some kind of file-size amnesty, so this is a pretty poor show for the game itself. Of course, we adore Battlefront, even for all of its flaws when it first launched - so to see the relaunch go down so poorly is a pretty upsetting sight.
Please, Battlefront, don’t conk out already. We’re not sure we can handle that.
