The Rizzo dance. The Mestanauris chant. The CJCJ Kangaroo. The "This is Rocket League!". The Rocket League Championship Series are nothing without fans, and the time has now come for the born entertainers to take to stage once more and be welcomed by a Mexican wave of fans. For the first time since December 2019, RLCS is opening its doors to fans, and welcoming them with open arms.

RLCS Winter Major To Welcome Back Fans

After successfully operating the first live event in two years with the RLCS Fall Major in Stockholm - behind closed doors - North American fans or travelling fanatics will be rejoiced to know that the Winter Major will be played with a live crowd.

With $300,000 up for grabs, the best teams from around the world will compete in the second major of the season at the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles, and Psyonix have officially revealed that fans will be allowed in to spectate. Cue the limbs.

Up to 5,500 people will have the chance to grab a ticket when they are released later in February, where the Playoff portion of the event will take place over a two-day span. The group stages will remain behind closed doors, although the likes of Sandrock Gaming will be hoping to have their region represented in the playoffs again and make their debut in front of fans.

NRG remain the only team to have qualified for the event so far with their back-to-back Regional final appearances, in which they beat Spacestation Gaming and lost to G2 Esports. Reigning Major Champions Team BDS are also in the mix to return to the national stage and retain their crown, although a Team Queso shaped spanner was thrown into the works as they beat Dignitas in the only European Regional final to have taken place this split.

Undoubtedly the NA home bias will be in play, leaving the final Winter Regional as a must-win for the likes of Team Envy and Complexity Gaming who have both fallen out of favour since their appearances in Stockholm.

Fans looking to make the RLCS Winter Major LAN, Los Angeles, will have to either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or provide a negative PCR test before arrival, and masks will remain mandatory for the entire two-day Playoffs.

See you in LA.
