Today (February 14), Epic Games, Psyonix, and BLAST have announced that the first Major of the RLCS 2024 Season will be headed to Copenhagen.
As the RLCS 2024 season has gotten off to a flying start with record viewership numbers for online qualifiers, Europe's elite teams are set to continue to compete with the rest of the world on home turf, with the Danish capital having been revealed to be the city for Major 1.
The K.B Hallen Arena will play host to the best 16 teams in the world on March 30-31, with the most diverse world palette that Rocket League has seen yet.
Rocket League Major 1 is headed to the home of BLAST
Copenhagen, the home city of new Rocket League esports publishers BLAST, will see Rocket League's wheels land on the tarmac for the first time. Previous RLCS events have seen the tyre marks skid to Stockholm, Madrid, London, and Dusseldorf but never to Denmark - an illustrious esports city.
BLAST has a rich history of bringing esports events to Copenhagen, having previously brought Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six, and more to its home. But the K.B. Hallen Arena will see esports action for the first time, given that BLAST usually heads to Royal Arena or Forum Copenhagen.
The tight-knit arena hosts around 4,500 fans with a further 500 ground-level seats and has previously played host to legendary bands like The Beatles, Led Zepplin, and Pink Floyd.
RLCS Major 1 Copenhagen to be Rocket League's most worldwide event yet
The RLCS 2024 Major 1, Copenhagen, will see more teams from around the world than ever before qualify for the main event. The 16-team event will only have four representatives from Europe and North America, which is a slight reduction on Majors gone by, and will allow for half of the teams to be from so-called "minor regions."
For the first time in a non-Worlds setting, two teams will be qualifying from MENA, South America, and Oceania, with the final two slots being from the highest-ranking teams from APAC and SSA.
Tickets for the RLCS 2024 Major 1, Copenhagen, will be going on sale as of 3pm GMT (4pm CET) on February 15th, with all-weekend tickets ranging from £51 to £75.
