A source has claimed that a brand-new first-person game set in the Star Wars universe is on the way, and it'll let you play as a Mandalorian, collecting bounties.

Star Wars games have always been a treat, but for too long, they've focussed on the Jedi. The galaxy far, far away is rife with stories to be told, and not all of them have to feature the galaxy's finest monk-cops.
Now, it looks like we could finally be getting a Star Wars story that players have been begging for in the realm of video games. According to Insider Gaming, a new first-person game set in the Star Wars universe is in the works at Respawn Entertainment.
If being the development team behind Apex Legends and the Star Wars: Jedi games, things get even better when you hear what the supposed story of this mystery shooter is. Safe to say, "This is the way."
What do we know about Respawn's Mandalorian game?
The game supposedly features the player as a Mandalorian during the reign of the Galactic Empire, and will see you take bounties across the galaxy.
Sources have called the game very fast-paced, thanks to the Mandalorian's jetpack leading to some incredibly zippy in-air control.
Specifically, it looks as though the game is taking notes from the traversal of the likes of Apex Legends and Titanfall, with plenty of boost sliding, jumps, and dashes playing into the core mechanics. The source also claims that players will regenerate their health predominantly by performing consecutive kills.
Star Wars' Mandalorian game may not feature Din Djarin
As of yet, the expected link to Star Wars series The Mandalorian is unconfirmed. The game features a Mandalorian, but we don't know yet if Din Djarin and Grogu are attached.
Even so, the era of the Mandalorian plight during the reign of the Galactic Empire is a fascinating one to explore, so we could yet see some very interesting stories stem from it.
The site says the game is a couple of years away from release, and the title isn't expected to be open-world. This means it would likely follow a strict narrative and a more linear style similar to the Cal Kestis games.
It's a pretty shocking revelation, but as Star Wars announces that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be taking the step into movies, there couldn't be a better time than now to bring a Mando way of life to the video game world. Finally, the countless fan games have paid off.
