True to its name, Rebirth Island has been engulfed in the flames of the phoenix and is set to be reborn from the ashes. It's all as its Warzone arrival appears to be imminent...again.

The Death Row prison has already taken many forms in Call of Duty, having featured in Zombies maps Mob of the Dead and Call of the Dead, as well as Warzone maps Alcatraz and Rebirth Island. Rebirth Island has been popular on all four occasions, leaving CoD fans anticipating its return in the Modern Warfare 3 era.

Now, hot off the back of Fortune's Keep, Rebirth Island appears to be ready to rumble in Warzone, and its much-hyped return is imminent.

Rebirth Island leaked for imminent Warzone return

Rebirth Island was removed from Warzone as the legacy title was sunsetted alongside Fortune's Keep and Caldera, but has long been confirmed to be coming back as a resurgence map at some point in 2024.

Having been teased earlier this month, leakers have now found that Rebirth Island could be coming back as early as Season 3. Per the in-game timer in Season 2, that's just 54 days away.

Dataminers have found a reference to "S3_Rebirth" in the Call of Duty HQ game files, showing that we're more than likely to get back-to-back resurgence maps in consecutive seasons.

What will Rebirth Island 2.0 look like?

Fortune's Keep's new layout hasn't necessarily gone down well. Tyler "TeePee" Polchow's popular comment on social media, saying, "Can we stop putting giant holes on the maps?" appears to be resonating well within the community.

He added, "Still having fun on it, but it doesn't have the same flow to it since they blew up middle map," and now, fans are hoping the Rebirth Island doesn't get the same treatment.

In the only leaked image so far, Rebirth Island appeared to still be intact, although the limited view of a watch tower didn't give the full picture of what was on the ground level.

Rebirth Island has never really had as much creativity as Fortune's Keep, instead being known for gunplay over side-quests, and it's more than likely that not too much depth will be added to the map - if any at all. Still, it looks like we'll find out by the beginning of April.
