After what feels like a lifetime of waiting for a release date, Pokemon's new DLC is almost here, meaning fans can't wait to jump back into the Paldea region. There's plenty that awaits us, like the mysterious Teal Mask and a myriad of new beasties to rope into our fighting ring.

Pokefans are just about ready to poke around in the new opportunities, but it looks like there could be much more than we had expected tucked away in the new content. It's not just tea-themed Pocket Monsters, as Pokemon Scarlet & Violet could be about to get a secret upgrade.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC teases graphical upgrade

The latest look at the upcoming DLC coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is illuminating, but there are some players who think that there's something coming to the game that the video hasn't explicitly mentioned.

The trailer for the game's extra content is looking a little smoother than usual, which is pretty noticeable given how many fans complained that Scarlet & Violet's original release was pretty subpar for games of the current generation.

The trailer's quality has led a few fans to suggest that we could be getting a total graphical upgrade along with these DLC packs. The Pokemon Company hasn't commented on the potential of a graphical overhaul, but there's every chance that it could debut upgrades in an update to coincide with the DLC.

Another option (and the most likely) would be an update coming behind a paywall. That second option would be a bit of a shocker, but given how many feel that The Pokemon Company is rushing games out to make money, some wouldn't put it past the gaming giant.

Fans react to rumours of a Pokemon visual upgrade

Fans have kicked up such a fuss about the potential of a visual upgrade in the comments of the new video that Nintendo has resorted to switching off comments for the video itself.

It's a pretty big move from Nintendo and not one that we could have expected, although it does add some validity to the idea that a visual upgrade is in the works. Simply, Nintendo might've gotten annoyed by the calls for it.

Whatever happens, we're going to have to wait and see if it's legit. Remember though, Nintendo doesn't typically get this miffed over nothing.
