The Pokemon anime was the gateway for many kids that led to a lifetime of video game obsessions, and even 25 years later, it's still going strong.

Even though the series started humbly as the adaptation of a couple of video games (maybe you've heard of them?), it's since become a symbol of anime popularity in the West and the gaming industry itself.

Ash Ketchum and his adventures with Pikachu have long defined the series, and as he has now finally completed his journey to becoming Pokemon Master in the anime, fans have wondered what's next for him.

Now, Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series has offered us a peek into his future.

Ash Ketchum's Journey Isn't Over Yet

As he becomes a Pokemon master and achieves his dreams, a lot of fans have been nervous that this could be the end of the road for him - without any new stories to tell with him at the helm.

The finale of the Pokemon Ultimate Journeys series is right around the corner, but thankfully, we've been comforted with the news that Ash isn't finished just yet.

As revealed in a recent press conference, the head of TV-Tokyo's anime Business Department, Toshiyuki Hiraoka, has stated that "Satoshi's [Ash's] adventures aren't over yet." Thank goodness. But where does that leave Ash's new pal Goh?

What's Happening To Goh At The End Of Pokemon Journeys?

As Ash's new friend and companion, Goh has been indispensable for our trip across the new regions of Journeys. Despite viewers being concerned that the end of the series could also mean the end of Goh's tenure as a companion, his voice actor has assured us this may not be the case.

In a recent interview, voice actor Daiki Yamashita told fans to "look forward to Goh's Growth in the future," implying that he isn't going anywhere. While that doesn't mean he'll definitely be back for a Paldea-set series, it's a positive step.

It's good news for fans of the Journeys series, as well as Pokemon fans in general that we're not saying goodbye to Ash or his mate too soon. To be honest, we're not sure what we'd do without Ash in our lives. Bring on Fuecoco and Gen 9.
