Despite a whimsical end to the 2022 Call of Duty League season, many fans and experts expected the OpTic Texas roster to stick together and give it another injury-free shot. Few people predicted one change. Nobody expected a double switch.

However, if you swim still in rostermania, you often get eaten by the sharks, and OpTic has decided not to be stagnant food this season.

Heading into the Modern Warfare 2 season, OpTic Texas has decided to (in the famous words of Patrick "Aches" Price) "blow it up", and has now released Indervir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal and Brandon "Dashy" Otell.

Dashy And iLLeY Leave OpTic For Modern Warfare 2

If there were to be a roster change, you'd have wagered it would be iLLeY who would be stepping away, given that his Vanguard season was riddled with injury, causing two substitutes to be pulled into the ranks and hindering OpTic's progress. Although it was expected that iLLeY would be given the time to recuperate and be given a second chance, he has now been released from the organisation as an unrestricted free agent.

The name nobody expected to see on the free agency list was Dashy. Having been OpTic's MVP and the second MVP of the entire league, Dashy's impact was colossal in Vanguard, which leaves huge boots to fill.

It's been speculated that Dashy's attitude to competing was one of the main reasons why he has been allowed to leave, butting heads with Seth "Scump" Abner and Head Coach Raymond "RamboRay" Lussier after his late-night VALORANT streams and reportedly missing scrims. The Dark Knight remains on the OpTic books as an unrestricted free agent, meaning a buyout fee must be settled on for Dashy to leave the organisation this year.

Dashy, though, was the epitome of OpTic, having been heavy on the content team alongside his esports career, and was loved by the fans. Bruuuuce.

HyDra, Attach, And Cammy Identified As OpTic Replacements

As to who comes in over Dashy and iLLeY, it appears that a role shuffle will see Scump move into a flex position to allow French phenom Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez to come in as an SMG player alongside Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas-Castro.

The former New York Subliners man is an unrestricted free agent this year, although the big apple org has thrown a whopping $1.5 million contract on the table to retain his presence. OpTic will not likely match that fee, although their brand presence and content revenue will likely serve as an equilibrium.

As for the fourth and final spot, both Dillon "Attach" Price and Cameron "Cammy" McKilligan have been identified as targets. Attach appears to be the better-suited player, given that the position up for grabs will be that of a main Assault Rifle role, which he operated in for Minnesota ROKKR and earned an All-Star-second-team nomination.

Cammy has also been a long-time person of interest for OpTic, having been linked with a move there last season. However, he might be better suited to a flex position, which is why Toronto Ultra have allowed him to leave and retained Jamie "Insight" Craven.

There is a world where both Attach and Cammy join as the main AR and flex respectively, leaving Scump and Shotzzy on SMGs, should HyDra stay with Subliners.

For OpTic's Green Wall, strap in, it's going to be an entertaining few weeks.
