Once one of the most popular content creators in the Call of Duty scene, it seems like Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff is officially severed with the blockbuster gaming franchise.
Strains between NICKMERCS and Call of Duty were made as the famed streamer moved to Apex Legends to play competitively, but they were heightened as the streamer was made the face of the very first creator bundle, only for it to be removed weeks later amid comments on LGBTQ+ awareness.
Now, it looks like he's done with CoD altogether, and won't be returning to Modern Warfare 3 or the new iteration of Warzone.
NICKMERCS continues Activision rivalry ahead of Modern Warfare 3
Over 200 content creators all gathered together for the second time as Call of Duty aired the CoD: Next showcase which pulled the curtian back on Modern Warfare 3.
But unlike last year, NICKMERCS was not among the list of players in attendance, and he's now taken to stream to say that the bad blood between himself and the franchise is still there.
"If Call of Duty don’t want to associate themselves with me because that’s how I feel, then so what? F**k em. They can agree to disagree," he said on stream.
Nick continued to say that there has never been an apology from him to Activision, or Activision to him, as he claimed that Call of Duty was the only company that distanced themselves from him following the online comments, whereas his partners and sponsors were fine after a private conversation.
NICKMERCS 'probably won't' come back to Call of Duty
If there was a slither of hope from NICKMERCS fans as to whether he could be pulled back in by Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, the streamer has pretty much ruled out a return.
"It is hard," he continued. "I grew up playing CoD. So obviously I have a lot of friends who still play. A big part of my community comes from CoD, so I would love to tap into a part of that.
But the way they handled the whole thing and painted me out be some bad guy that they don’t want to be associated with because I have an issue with pushing views and things like that on young little children, like what the f**k. It's so strange. To this day I'm blown away by it, truly."
It seems like NICKMERCS will be set on his journey in Apex Legends and other titles then, and that portion of the Call of Duty community will not be coming back.
