Netflix has announced that it is working on an animated The Witcher film, Sirens of the Deep, which is set to release in 2024.

The show will feature actors from the live-action Witcher series, as well as Geralt’s original voice actor from the video game.

Netflix has revealed a new animated Witcher film

On 10 November, Netflix revealed that a new animated Witcher film is on the way, which will expand the universe even further.

In a post shared to its website, Netflix announced that the movie is set between episode 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 1, making it the perfect excuse for a rewatch when it releases in 2024.

The Netflix article reads: “Prepare to take a trip deeper into the Continent. As explained during Geeked Week, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is an animated film based on one of the original Witcher stories.

“Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into an all-out war.”

There is no release date set for the film’s release at this point, however it is listed by Tudum as being late 2024.

Sirens of the Deep will see some familiar names returning to The Witcher

The film is said to be bringing back some iconic names both from the original game and The Witcher TV series.

Perhaps the most exciting name to be returning is the return of Doug Cockle in the role of Geralt.

Cockle told Netflix: “I am super excited to announce my return to the world of The Witcher voicing Geralt of Rivia once again.

“I’m thrilled to be able to share this next chapter of the White Wolf’s journey with fans of the Witcher universe. Mire taedh aen stráede!”

As well as Cockle, The Witcher stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will reprise their roles as Yennefer of Vengerberg and Jaskier in the upcoming animated film.
