Somehow, we don't think Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag is on his own in his latest outburst, as the esteemed Call of Duty legend has slammed the developers for adding water into multiplayer - costing his LA Thieves side its opening fixture at the Call of Duty League World Championships.
Water combat was heightened in the Call of Duty universe with Modern Warfare 2. Although the franchise is no stranger to getting wet. Most of the time, stepping into the water would be fatal.
Aside from the odd Black Ops map like Raid, Splash, and Hunted, the Modern Warfare series scvarely dabbles in it, and you've never been able to shoot through the waves.
With this new addition, Nadeshot has been left purple in the face as LA Thieves were caught out by a diving shenanigan that cost them a crucial map at the World Championships.
Hicksy makes fantastic water route to beat LA Thieves
Toronto Ultra and LA Thieves were evenly poised in the CDL World Championships round one matchup, and in map one the teams traded blow for blow in Hardpoint on Zarqwa Hydroelectric.
With both sides moving over the 200 point mark, it was Charlie "Hicksy" Hicks of Toronto Ultra who went for a long swim around the back of the map to kill an LA Thieves member who was holding the spawns.
This kill allowed Ultra's players to all spawn next to the Hardpoint and continue to pick up kills, which soon saw them get to that 250 points barrier and win map one - the first of three that Toronto would win in the series to send LAT to the lower bracket.
Nadeshot slams MW2's water-based maps
After watching the action unfold on the Seth "Scump" Abner watch party alongside Hector "H3CZ" Rodriguez and Marcus "MBoZe" Blanks, Nadeshot went ballistic at the water feature, claiming that is doesn't belong in Call of Duty.
"Why the f**k do we have water like this in Call of Duty, you f**king idiots!" Nadeshot exploded on the Watch Party, much to the enjoyment of Scup and H£CZ.
"Let's just go and disappear like we've got Active Camo for 20 f**king seconds. Just go for a tactical swim while we’re playing on stage for $500,000," he continued.
Usually, LA Thieves are quite ample at shutting down water routes, as they have done with a deep-diving OpTic side on multiple occasions. Thankfully for Nadeshot, at least, there will only be a handful more opportunities to play on the map, given LA Thieves have a minimum of one game left in the season, and a maximum of four.
