Although Modern Warfare 3 is bringing new content with a fresh campaign and an open-world style Zombies mode, most of the excitement is focused on returning features from previous CoD titles.

Whether it's the remastered Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps, Makarov as the villain, or classic weapons coming back, Modern Warfare 3 is definitely aiming to play on the nostalgia of CoD fans.

Well, a new MW3 leak has revealed that another feature will be returning that was randomly removed in MW2, despite appearing in every Call of Duty title beforehand.

MW3 leak indicates enemy nametags will be returning

Seemingly out of the blue with the release of Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward made the decision to remove enemy nametags from their game.

This didn't go down well with the CoD community as the quality of life feature had been in every single prior Call of Duty title.

Well, according to reliable leaker el_bobberto, Sledgehammer Games has decided to reintroduce enemy nametags in MW3.

While it's definitely not a game-changing addition that's going to get a lot of attention, it's always nice to see who you're killing in-game. On top of that, it can lead to mini-rivalries in matches that just make the overall gameplay experience better.

CoD fans are tired of old features being used for MW3 hype

While it's undeniable that there's a lot of excitement for MW3 amongst CoD fans, some players are tired of the devs bringing back classic features that never should have been removed.

In their opinion, taking out these quality-of-life features and bringing them back at a later date is a strategy used to generate excitement. "Took it away, to put in the next CoD and said it's new or its returning, but it should stay in every new game if it was there before," said one user.

Another argued, "Man it’s amazing how they’re building hype for a game by just undoing all the awful decisions Infinity Ward made this past year."

While it's clear the CoD community doesn't think name tags should have ever been removed in the first place, at least they'll be back in MW3. It may be a relatively minor feature, but all these classic additions are really getting old-school CoD fans on the edge of their seat.
