Crossover events in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone are becoming more and more common, with The Boys, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj, and Snoop Dogg all arriving recently in Call of Duty.
However, based on a set of leaks, the next collaboration will be taking a hellish turn with a franchise a little closer to home for Activision.
We're obviously talking about Diablo 4, with dataminers finding references to the fantasy universe in the files. This would certainly be a crossover to remember, and with plenty of iconic Diablo characters to choose from, the potential for new Operators is endless.
Modern Warfare 2 and Diablo 4 crossover leaked
Taking to Twitter on September 4, popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL revealed that a MW2 x Diablo 4 collaboration could be in the works.
According to reports, dataminers have found references to "Lilith" and the "Butcher" in Warzone following the last update.
A crossover with Diablo would make sense, as Activision owns the franchise, and it's a guaranteed home run when it comes to Operators. CoD fans will be desperate to run around its multiplayer, gunning down foes as the Mother of Sanctuary.
It's worth noting that this information is based on leaks, so we don't know whether Lilith or the Butcher will be added as Operators just yet. However, based on the dev's recent cat, bunny and rat skins, they're unlikely to hold back for Diablo icons just because they've got a set of horns.
When will the MW2 x Diablo 4 collab arrive?
CharlieINTEL also revealed that the leak indicates the Diablo crossover will be coming with the Season 6 update for Warzone and MW2. Based on the in-game Battle Pass timer, Season 6 is expected to arrive on September 27, so keep your eyes peeled around that date.
With horror-themed Operators tipped for Halloween, the likes of Evil Dead's Ash and Hellsing's Alucard could be some good company with a few Diablo demons. Let's hope Activision drop the official details on the collab very soon, as this is a crossover that is guaranteed to get the Call of Duty community excited.
