Season 4 Reloaded of Call of Duty kicks off on July 12 and while the community is excited, there are concerns that the update is light on content compared to previous major patches.
Not only that, there's been a lot of frustration from players recently surrounding Activision's focus on paid store bundles, especially those that don't fit the Mil-Sim aesthetic.
As a result, some fans have slammed the Season 4 Reloaded roadmap as "grim" after seeing how many bundles have been listed as upcoming content. In their opinion, claiming paid cosmetics as new content worthy of the roadmap is "ridiculous."
MW2 players flame "grim" content roadmap filled with skins
Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user TheRealpdGaming decided to alter the Season 4 Reloaded roadmap, removing all of the paid store bundles from the image.
This showcased how much of the upcoming content was actually just fresh cosmetics available in the store, leaving them to describe the roadmap as "grim."
As you would expect, this sparked a discussion in the community, with one user arguing: "This whole paid skins considered as content is ridiculous," and another claiming the whole situation is just "garbage and really sad to look at."
Some players are so desperate for fresh content, they're encouraging Activision to go back to its roots and re-release OG maps like "Highrise, Terminal, Afghan, & Quarry" just to keep the game interesting.
What features are coming in MW2 & WZ2 Season 4 Reloaded?
In terms of major new content coming in CoD Season 4 Reloaded, the primary features coming with the update are the MX Guardian shotgun, the Vondel Gulag, the Temp v Field Upgrade, a new Warzone in-game event and finally the Vondel Waterfront MW2 multiplayer map.
There's also the Camp challenges, The Boys collab, and various new cosmetics, but for a lot of players, these shouldn't be considered as new content.
With the patch launching in Call of Duty on July 12, it'll be interesting to see how it's received and how long before the community starts to get bored.
