When it rains it pours for the Call of Duty collaborations, but while the DOOM weapon bundles have been applauded, the upcoming Diablo crossover isn't making the same impact.
With Diablo's deathly and deadly heaven and hell reapers, Lilith and Inarius, both set to make the Gulag their own version of limbo before deciding which afterlife path their enemies should venture down, an early look at their skins hasn't had the terrifying grave-digging I'm-a-celebrity-get-me-the-f-out-of-here effect that Activision might have hoped for.
Instead of having enemies quaking in their boots, the Lilith skin is actually being pushed on enemies by players hoping that the "wide" Operator will be easier target practice.
Call of Duty x Diablo Lilith skin is being body-shamed
Well, not quite.
But poor old Lilith, who is supposed to be some master of death to be feared, is being mocked, as her wings add a bit of chunk to her funk.
As the leaked Diablo skins aired on social media, many players found that Lilith wings looked to be massive, and compared to other operators in the game they could be quite a problem.
"Damn they are wide af," one fan said, adding to the woes that her wingspan will mean she will be more visible, and less viable, than other characters.
The same also goes for Inarius, too, as the angelic yet shadowed Profit is padded out with massive shoulder pads which may also protrude around corners and ballistic cover.
Call of Duty fans fearful wide Lilith is pay-to-lose
Fans have quickly become fearful that these massive bodies will actually be pay-to-lose. Even if they operate off standard hitboxes and the wings cannot be shot to cause damage, they will be quite the giveaway for players wanting not to be seen, either in multiplayer Search and Destroy games or in Warzone end-circles.
"You're gonna be able to see those wings around corners so easily," one fan said on Twitter.
Another added, "Dope looking skins, but they’re gonna get you beamed in-game."
It's a shame because the skins appear to be very impressive, but if they come at the cost of good performances and stealth, it could be straight in the bin for Diablo.
