Despite the likes of Highrise, Afghan, Quarry, and Terminal all featuring within Warzone's Al Mazrah map, a large portion of the Call of Duty community was disheartened that these playgrounds weren't added to Modern Warfare 2.
It would've helped bolster the map pool and inject nostalgia into a game which shares its name with the most-loved title in the series.mBut don't be licking those wounds for too long.
Thanks to some recent leaks, we've now got our first look at Call of Duty 2023, and it seems like two of the most beloved maps of years gone by will be heading Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3 has still not been officially announced, but we all know it's coming, and details of the console ports have already been leaked alongside an Outbreak 2.0 mode.
Now though, it seems like some of those fan-favourite maps that we missed out on this year are finally set to arrive, as both Terminal and Scrapyard have been leaked online.
While the DMCA hammer has smacked them off Twitter and Reddit, the images of a fresh-faced Terminal and a spruced-up Scrapyard can be found on sites like Imgur.

The original tweet from CoD_Perseus has now been hit with copyright strikes, which almost validate their existence as something that Call of Duty does not want us to see.
Both maps are relatively small in size and favour a lot of gunfights, which could be a catalyst for what else Modern Warfare 3 has to offer.
Interstingly, Highrise also fits this mould of maps, which could mean we're finally getting the best Infinity Ward map of all time again after years of stubbornness have been overturned. Activision isn't ready to lift the lid on CoD 2023 just yet, but we're more than ready for it.
