Konami's decision to include "Vol.1" in the name of the 2023's Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection was a major hint to fans that this would not be an isolated instalment.

As you would expect, this led to widespread speculation over which games would be included in the next package of Metal Gear titles, as well as a potential release date.

While the community was expecting an announcement or at least some promising news in the official Konami Q&A that took place this week, they were instead met with a frustrating update.

Konami reveals disappointing MGS Collection Vol.2 news

During the highly anticipated Konami Q&A that took place on March 19, MGS producer Noriaki Okamura responded to fans calling for news on Vol.2.

Instead of dropping any hints or getting players excited, Okamura revealed that the titles for the next instalment haven't been decided "yet."

Unfortunately, the bad news didn't end there, with the producer going on to say that a release date hasn't been confirmed either, with him going on to ask fans to "wait a little longer."

This suggests that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is still a long way off completion. As you can imagine, it's something the MGS community isn't happy to hear.

While the Q&A didn't reveal anything new, a leak back in June of last year did offer up some interesting information about the potential titles that are going to be included in Vol.2.

Placeholder buttons were discovered for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Given their place in the Metal Gear timeline, you don't have to be Hideo Kojima to figure out that these might be next.

Although not an official announcement, it's a good indication of what Konami is cooking up behind the scenes. The community is growing impatient, so let's hope a major reveal is on the cards soon.
