Is there going to be anyone left in the Pokemon anime by the time 2023 is done? While we know series stalwarts Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu are bowing out at the end of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, they might not be alone.

It's been 26 years since Ash first stepped out of Pallet Town on his journey to be the very best (like no one ever was), and along the way, he's made plenty of friends and a few enemies. Sadly, it seems the Pokemon anime's most iconic foes could be blasting off for one last time.

Is Team Rocket Leaving The Pokemon Anime?

The latest issue of Pash Magazine highlights Jessie, James, and Meowth, with the return of some more familiar faces. Images from Episode 11 show off March 24's "The Rainbow and the Pokémon Master!"

Here, we see Team Rocket alongside the 'Mon they've caught over the years, with the likes of Carnivine, Gourgeist, and Mime Jr. hanging out with Jessie, James, and Meowth. Team Rocket has introduced plenty of members over the years, but the troublesome trio have been a constant thorn in Ash's side.

With Ash leaving, it makes sense that Team Rocket's time is also ending. The group has had a continued vendetta against the "twerps," but it remains to be seen how they'll bow out. Here's hoping Ash and Team Rocket can put their differences aside one last time.

What Is Team Rocket's Final Adventure?

There's still plenty of time to make the most of Team Rocket, with March 10's Episode 9 also being Team Rocket-centric. "Team Rocket Strikes Back!" has them go after Pikachu once again - teasing some classic Pokemon anime.

While we know they're sticking around until at least Episode 11, we're heading into the Pokemon anime's endgame, meaning you'd better make the most of Team Rocket while you can. It's easy to forget we've been with them as long as we've been with Ash.

We know Ash's replacements are Liko and Roy, who also bring the adorable Captain Pikachu along for the ride with another trainer called Friede. It's unclear who the villains of the new series will be, but with everyone from Team Galactic to Team Skull out there, there are plenty of villainous organisations.
