The splash that Helldivers 2 made has been unprecedented, but it suits the game nicely. As an underdog rising up to spread democracy across the cosmos, we'll take it.

The co-op shooter gameplay already has plenty of fans getting into character as harbingers of good old-fashioned, USA-branded ass-whoopin', and as clips spread across the internet already will attest, Helldivers 2 is the silly shooter fun that players have been waiting for.

Helldivers 2 is crushing it in sales and fan engagement - and now, as the game's studio cranks its hires, it looks like we could be in for more bug-crushing mayhem.

Helldivers 2's team is getting a lot bigger

Helldivers 2 has proven to be a huge success, and it seems that the team knows it, as they're venturing to welcome new members to the ranks of Arrowhead Game Studios.

Company CEO Johan Pilestedt has taken to Twitter to share that Helldivers 2 has popped off so nicely that Arrowhead is now looking to expand in a pretty huge way.

The tweet revealed that job listings are set to go live on the Arrowhead website soon, with the team seemingly looking for new artists and developers. Pilestedt adds that the company's "open application" for senior developers is always open and will stay that way while they look for more specific team members.

What do new Helldivers recruitments mean for the game?

A building erupts into flames in Helldivers 2.

Put simply, it looks like Arrowhead has big plans to keep the shooter going after the hype around its current content dies down a bit. Fans are theorising that these hires mean that we'll get a full DLC or big content updates before too long.

Even though new hires don't directly correlate, it indicates that the team is more than ready to fire into some new content. New team members will help with this, and hopefully, it will lead to a Helldivers 2 that keeps its hype levels at its current level. Bring on the Helldivers 2 Star Wars DLC.
