There's something about piloting a mech suit that gets shooter fans on the edge of their seat, especially if you can use them to destroy formidable monsters.

While there are rumours that another Titanfall project is in the works from Respawn, that's likely going to be years in the making. Luckily, Helldivers 2 is coming through for its fans, confirming that mechs are on the cusp of arriving in-game.

Most titles would hand over the new content to the community in a big patch with no questions asked, but this is Helldivers 2, and the devs love to keep fans immersed.

Construction of the mechs has been halted due to an unexpected attack. If players want the mechs, they'll have to liberate a planet, so it's all hands on deck.

Helldivers 2 players have to liberate Tien Kwan to earn mech EXO suits

After the Helldivers 2 devs confirmed that mechs were coming, Arrowhead Studios took to Twitter on March 7 to warn fans that the factories constructing the EXO suits were "under attack."

Calling players to action, it revealed that "all output" had been halted and if they wanted access to the mechs, they were going to have to liberate Tien Kwan. As a result, Helldivers from across the globe have been flooding the planet in an attempt to push back the enemy forces and get their hands on the EXO suits.

This engagement with the community and unlocking new content through progression in the game keeps fans completely immersed. The possibility of failing also means the stakes are high, as everyone is desperate to start piloting a mech as soon as possible.

First look at Helldivers 2 mech EXO suits

Despite production being halted until Tien Kwan is liberated, thanks to Helldivers 2 Updates, we have been given our first look at the EXO suits.

The two-legged formidable pieces of kit feature two massive turrets that will obliterate any enemies in your path. They don't appear to be particularly fast, but the well-armoured suits will likely be tough enough to survive huge explosions and gunfire.

It's hard to know whether they have a boost, flight or movement ability as the clip only showcases them walking. Either way, it's enough to get any Helldivers 2 fan excited and desperate to try them out. If you're keen, you know what to do - suit up and head to Tien Kwan.
