Arrowhead Game Studios' Helldivers 2 has been going incredibly strong for the last couple of weeks, and now that the game's servers have been patched up a little, players are able to enjoy a more streamlined democratic experience. But, there's still more to come.
Developers revealed that the mechs first seen in a pre-launch trailer were still very much in the works, and that they were predominantly ready for launch. The team was ultimately waiting for the server issues to find a resolution before the machines would come to the game.
Now that the coast is clear, fans are expecting to go full Titanfall and enjoy Helldivers 2's mechs any time now. Lucky for us, we've already had a peek at how they look in-game.
Helldivers 2 leaked footage shows off mechs
A new post in the Helldivers 2 subreddit has leaked mechs and their application in the game ahead of any announcement or gameplay reveal from Arrowhead Game Studios.
The video shows off a look at every inch of the mech as the player runs around it, and it reveals the animations attached when the player evacuates and enters the mech itself.
It doesn't reveal anything about the combat of the mechs (that are actually pretty small when considering that some players were expecting Gundam-level combat), but at least we can see that the development of the weapons is sturdy enough that they can exist without falling through the ground or going haywire.
Helldivers mech leaker reveals new content coming to the game
Along with the video of the mech appearing in game, the original poster claims that "new weapons like an energy RPG coming, a meteorite that hits like the nuke, and group of Helldivers you can call in to support you (NPC) and more."
It's an interesting suggestion, but if the player has seen the mech, it's hard to prove that these claims are false. We won't know for sure until we get some confirmation from Arrowhead, but in the meantime, we suppose it's time to get excited for the next chapter of our democratic campaign.
